Denny Hamlin
Denny Hamlin is in his third year as a full-time driver in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for Joe Gibbs Racing while also moonlighting in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Hamlin was the first rookie to ever qualify for the Chase, and finishing a career-best third in points in 2006 en route to rookie of the year honors. He won the non-points Budweiser Shootout at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway and with a season sweep of the two races at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway.
Hamlin’s abilities have been on display in the Nationwide Series too. Since his rookie year in 2005, Hamlin has won five races and 11 poles, and in 2007, he co-drove Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 20 car to second in the season-ending standings.

Tony Stewart
Long before Tony Stewart became a two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion, he was a champion several times over en route to his NASCAR success.
Prior to joining the NASCAR ranks, Stewart captured the 1997 IRL IndyCar Series championship. And before that, he was the 1995 USAC Triple Crown champion, laying claim to the National Midget, Sprint and Silver Crown titles – the top three tiers of USAC’s racing ladder. Overshadowed by that impressive season was Stewart’s first USAC title – the 1994 National Midget crown.

Kyle Busch
The 2008 season marks Kyle Busch’s first year with Joe Gibbs Racing, but the 23-year-old comes to the championship-winning organization with five full seasons of NASCAR Nationwide Series experience and four full seasons of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series experience. In that time, Busch has recorded four Sprint Cup wins and 11 Nationwide Series victories.
As Busch made a name for himself in Sprint Cup, his talent belied his age. He is the series’ youngest pole winner, the series’ youngest race winner, the series’ youngest rookie of the year and the youngest driver to qualify for the Chase for the Championship. |
