The Races are a Little Bit Closer This Time
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (June 23, 2009) – For a driver like Kyle Busch, who competes in both the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series, June is not exactly an easy travel month.
Over the past three weeks, Busch has flown from one racetrack to another as the Sprint Cup Series competed at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway,
Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn and Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif., while on those same weekends, the Nationwide Series conducted its races at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway, Kentucky Speedway in Sparta and The Milwaukee Mile in West Allis, Wis.
That meant after each Sprint Cup Saturday practice was complete, Busch had to fly to the site of the Nationwide race. Michigan to Kentucky wasn’t bad, since only the state of Ohio separate the two tracks. Flying from Sonoma to Milwaukee was another story as the Las Vegas native had to cross two time zones to get to Wisconsin.
Fortunately for Busch, rather than a jet, all he’ll need is a good pair of shoes to go back and forth between the Sprint Cup and Nationwide garages as both races this weekend are at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon.
In his last three Nationwide Series starts, Busch has finished first (Nashville), second (Kentucky) and second (Milwaukee) and this Saturday, he will look for his fifth win of the season.
He’ll also attempt to enlarge his 127-point championship lead over Carl Edwards.
The best news for Busch? This weekend, there is a little less travel involved.
Joining Busch again on race day is Z-Line Designs, the San Ramon, Calif.-based designer and import manufacturer of ready-to-assemble furniture, which makes its return to Busch’s No. 18 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) in Saturday’s Camping World 200 Nationwide race at New Hampshire.
Staples®, the world’s largest office products company, will also be featured on Busch’s racecar this week. Staples carries a wide array of exclusive designs by Z-Line, which includes home office and home entertainment products. Staples will be introducing a new home office collection, the Horizon Collection to debut in late June, early July 2009. The Horizon Collection is a highly anticipated addition to the current Staples assortment which will also be shown in Metropolitan Home magazine.
